PPSSPP games require a PSP emulator in your Android phone to run various PlayStation handheld games. Using the PSP emulator, you can run all kinds of PlayStation games on your Android device.
First of all, you must have an Android device (phone or tablet) with at least 1GB of RAM. In addition, you need to make sure the OS installed on your device is Marshmallow or a newer Android operating system. If your Android device meets these requirements, you will be able to play the PPSSPP game.
Now let’s see how to do it:
Here Are the Steps Required to Download and Install PPSSPP Games on Android
Like I said earlier, to play the PSP games, you need to install an emulator application called PPSSPP, there are so many other emulator apps that can be used to play PSP games in .ISO or .CSO formats, but for the course of this tutorial, we’ll be focusing on one of the best of all which is the PPSSPP emulator.
This emulator comes in two types, the first is the PPSSPP free version that allows you to use with very few ads showing up at different sections of the app.
Now that you have your PPSSPP Android emulator ready, the next thing you’d need to get started is the actual PSP game. Remember no games are included when you install the PPSSPP emulator.
To get playing, you first have to understand that playable PSP games must be turned into .ISO or .CSO files before they can be compatible with your PSP Android emulator. What I’m simply saying is that these games come in .ISO or .CSO format and are later compressed using a files compressor app such as Xplore, WinRAR, ZArchiver etc., what this means is, to uncompressed the compressed PPSSPP games file, you’d need to follow the next step below.
Usually, the PPSSPP game files that have been downloaded are still in the form of RAR and also cannot be played on the PPSSPP emulator. This is because files that can be read by the PPSSPP emulator are files in the format of CSO or ISO.
The ISO or CSO file usually has a much larger size compared to the RAR file. The reason why it’s compressed to RAR is to make it much lighter and reduced data consumption during download. Following up on what I said in Step 2, you need to learn how to extract compressed files, in this case, we need to unzip or uncompress a highly compressed PPSSPP game.
To get started, download the ZArchiver application on your Android device through the link below.
In the example of the tutorial above, the RAR file which was originally larger in size, i.e 965MB, after being successfully extracted to ISO the size will change to 1.60 GB in size.
Now that you have extracted the file into the PSP folder, you can now open the already installed PPSSPP emulator and start enjoying your favourite PPSSPP .ISO game on your Android device.
